As a Maine native and daughter of two creatives, Jordan Weymouth Richards moved to New York City in 2006 to quench her own appetite for design in the world of fashion. After spending a summer studying abroad at London's innovative design school, Central Saint Martins and graduating from Parsons The New School for Design with a BFA in Fine Arts specializing in fashion design, Richards launched her own career as a designer for Ralph Lauren in 2010 and shortly thereafter started designing bridalwear independently. Her work has been featured on the cover of New Jersey Bride as well as the focal point of a national commercial for the GMC Precision Campaign. Fusing modern silhouettes with vintage details and fabrications, Richards finds inspiration in old worlds and new. Her love for antiquing and historic structures strongly influences her body of work while her appreciation for a clean, modern aesthetic keep her designs relative yet unique. Richards is a huge advocate for sustainable design and looks to incorporate the beauty and romance of vintage trims and fabrications whenever possible. Some of her favorite projects have incorporated elements from or redesigns of her client’s mother/grandmother’s dresses or accessories, giving a second life to a sentimental piece that otherwise only had a moment in time.
